Every entry is built from an official Can't Stop Now kit.

Choose Launcher, Runner, or Bare Bones, then publish to public before August 17 at noon PT. Every day a player returns adds to your score. Updates never reset your entry.

02 / How to enter

Start, build, retry.

Start from an official kit and publish to RUN before submissions close. You're entered automatically.

01

Pick a kit

Three official kits, all with the score-chase skeleton built in: score and timer hooks, personal-best tracking, and a retry loop that feels instant. Launcher and Runner give you a mechanic to start from; Bare Bones is a blank canvas if you already know your loop. Pick one below, in Game Studio or your AI desktop app.

02

Build a run worth retrying

Ten days. Solo or with friends, no team-size cap. Keep runs short, keep death fair, make improvement visible. Show the personal best everywhere it hurts, so the fun isn't beating the game. It's beating your last run.

03

Publish to RUN

Share to RUN before August 17 at noon PT and you land on the board automatically. We count total unique daily plays from the moment you publish through August 18 at noon PT, so a player who keeps coming back adds to your score again each day. Ship the moment the retry itch kicks in, then tune it all jam.

Three kits, one jam

Pick the kit that fits your idea.

Every kit ships with the same score-chase skeleton (score, timer, personal bests, an instant retry loop). The mechanic on top is up to you.

03 / The jam is live

Ten days on the clock. Here's where to put your energy.

Ten days to build, and every day you're live is a day of plays that count. These three moves matter most while the jam is on.

Publish the moment it hooks

We count plays from the moment you go public, and a player who returns adds to your score again each day, so publishing early is a real advantage. Publish to private to playtest, flip to public the moment one run makes people want another, and keep tuning all jam; updates never reset your entry.

Share to climb

More plays, more standing, and repeat players count every time they come back. Grab your share link and post it in #🎉・cant-stop-now-jam, Reddit, X, or your group chat. Every play adds to your total through August 18.

Watch the leaderboard

Standings update continuously as plays roll in, from your first publish through August 18. Bookmark it, see where you land, and keep shipping updates to climb.

04 / About

A ten-day jam for score-chasers.

Games built around short, repeatable attempts, the kind where losing makes you hit retry: racers, roguelikes, high-score arcade loops, speedrun gauntlets. If a run fits in a coffee break and mastery takes a week, it belongs here.

You get ten days to build it, then we tally total unique daily plays across the whole jam plus one extra day after submissions close: every day a player plays counts, so a player who keeps coming back adds to your score again and again. Publish early: every day your game is live is a day it can rack up plays.

You don't need to write a line of code. Describe your game in plain English and the AI builds it with you, in the browser or through an AI desktop app on your computer.

What counts as an entry

  • To enter: start from one of the three official Can't Stop Now kits (Game Studio template picker or the RUN CLI through an AI desktop app) and publish your game to RUN before August 17 at noon PT. Every kit-built, published game is entered automatically, with no separate submission form.
  • Entries must start from an official Can't Stop Now kit: Launcher, Runner, or Bare Bones. The kits unlock on August 7 at noon PT; anything started before then is disqualified.
  • Your game must be built around short, repeatable runs where players chase improvement. How a run works (race, roguelike, arcade loop, puzzle sprint) is completely up to you.
  • Original ideas only. No 1:1 clones; no copyrighted character names or art.
  • Solo or team, no team-size cap, but every team member must be credited.
  • Submissions close Monday August 17 at noon PT. Late means disqualified.
  • Scoring: we count total unique daily plays. For each day from the moment your game goes public through August 18 at noon PT (one day after submissions close), we count the unique players who played that day and add it to your running total: a player who plays on 5 different days is worth 5, a one-time player is worth 1. Publishing early means more days on the board. The top 5 entries by total unique daily plays win 1st through 5th place. Editor's Pick is chosen separately by RUN's editors, regardless of standing. Self-play and botted traffic are excluded.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I start building before August 7?

Practice all you like, but your entry must start from an official Can't Stop Now kit (Launcher, Runner, or Bare Bones), which unlock August 7 at noon PT. Anything started earlier won't count. Use the wait to study the run games you can't put down. What makes you retry? Short runs, fair deaths, a score you almost beat? Plan that feeling, then build it fast on day one.

How does my game get on the leaderboard?

Automatically. The moment your game is public and approved, it's added to the Can't Stop Now leaderboard, with no form and no submission step. Entries usually show up on the leaderboard within about 5 minutes of being approved to public. We rank by total unique daily plays: every day a player plays your game, counted from the moment your game goes public through August 18 at noon PT (one day after submissions close), adds to your score. A player who comes back five times is worth five times as much as someone who plays once. Publishing early means more days on the board, so publish as soon as it's fun and keep updating; updates never reset your entry.

Why count daily plays, not just unique players?

Because a player who keeps coming back is worth more than a player who tries it once. Counting daily plays means every return visit adds to your score again, so a game with real pull outscores a game that only gets one look from a lot of people. It also rewards being ready first. The earlier you publish, the more days your game has to pick up players and get them coming back, so ship as soon as it's fun and keep sharing all jam.

What counts as a "run game"?

Any game built around short, repeatable attempts where players chase improvement: an arcade high-score loop, a racer with a course worth mastering, a roguelike dungeon crawl, a puzzle sprint, a survival gauntlet. Rounds measured in seconds or minutes, mastery measured in days. The only must-keep from any of the three kits is the retry loop with personal bests. Everything else, genre, controls, art, and tone, is yours.

What's "Editor's Pick"?

A $300 award chosen entirely by RUN's editors, separate from the top 5 plays leaderboard. It goes to the entry the editors think nailed the retry loop best, win or lose on plays.

I published. Now what?

Now you get playtesters, and every visit counts. We tally unique plays for every day from the moment you publish through August 18 at noon PT, so the earlier you're live and the more players come back, the higher you climb. Grab your game's share link and post it everywhere it fits: #🎉・cant-stop-now-jam, Reddit, X, or your group chat. Every player who tries it adds to your total, and every day they come back adds again. Point people at the leaderboard too. Watching the standings move is half the fun, and there's time to climb all the way through August 18. Keep shipping updates. Updates never reset your entry, and a stickier loop keeps players playing and sharing, which is exactly what we score. It's also your best shot at Editor's Pick.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Use Game Studio in your browser or an AI desktop app on your computer. Either way, you describe the game in plain English while AI writes the code and handles the tools.

Can I work with a team?

Yes. Solo or team, no size cap. Just credit every member on your entry.

Will I be charged to enter or build?

No. You pay $0 to enter and build your jam game. AI generation has a real cost to RUN, so we use credits to track usage. We'll email you a promo code for 100,000 free credits when the jam opens. If you run low before August 17, ping us in #🎉・cant-stop-now-jam and we'll keep you building.

When does it all end?

Submissions close Monday, August 17 at noon PT. Plays keep counting through one extra day, August 18 at noon PT, and winners are announced live on the RUN channel that afternoon.
